Aaron Douglas Patterns
For my final project for Surface Design, I created three paintings based on the work of the 30's painter Aaron Douglas by abstracting his figures and utilizing his color palette. Throughout the process, I strayed further and further from the original subject matter, and played with both overlapping shapes and depth.
